At Mod Metal Doors, every unit is custom built to your exact specifications. We handle design, manufacturing, and installation in-house, so one team is accountable from the first conversation to the day you turn the key. Here is exactly how we work.
Inquiry & Consultation
3 steps
Initial Inquiry
You reach out by phone, through our website, or by referral. We collect the basics: location, door type, new build or remodel, and your timeline. Every inquiry gets a prompt response.
Introductory Call
A member of our team calls to understand your project. We cover your style direction, scope, and timeline, and determine the best next step together.
Design Consultation
We meet at our showroom or come to your job site. We walk through our portfolio, settle every configuration detail, and make all hardware selections together. You leave knowing exactly what your project will look like.
Design & Approval

Blueprints Coordinated
For new construction, we work directly with your builder to obtain architectural plans and review all opening dimensions, wall thickness, and structural conditions before a single measurement is drawn.
CAD Drawings Produced
Our design team produces full technical drawings: exact dimensions, glass placement, hardware locations, swing direction, and all clearances. Every drawing is reviewed internally before it reaches you.
CAD Sign-Off
Drawings go to you and your builder for review. We work through revisions until everything is right. Once you sign off, your deposit is collected and your production slot is secured. We do not begin manufacturing without written approval.
Manufacturing
4 steps
Production Begins
Your project enters the production floor. Steel frames are cut, welded, and assembled to your approved specifications. A dedicated project manager oversees your build and keeps you updated at key milestones.
Quality Check & Re-Measurement
Completed frames are inspected against your approved drawings and every critical dimension is physically re-verified before we place the glass order. Any issue is caught and corrected here, not at your job site.
Glass Ordered & Verified
Glass is specified and ordered to the re-measured frame dimensions. When it arrives, we measure one final time to confirm fit before assembly begins. We use double-pane insulated glass with premium thermal performance as standard.
Final Assembly & Finishing
Glass is set into frames, all hardware is installed, and the finish is applied and inspected. Every unit is fully tested before it leaves our shop: swing, seal, latch, and hardware operation all verified.
Installation
3 steps
Installation Scheduled
Our team coordinates directly with you and your builder to confirm the right install date and verify the site is ready: rough opening complete, framing done, and the building dried in.
Installation
Our crew arrives with your completed units. The opening is prepped, the unit is set, and all thresholds, weatherstripping, and seals are installed and adjusted on-site. The site is cleaned before we leave.
Final Walkthrough
We walk the completed installation with you and your builder, verifying operation, appearance, and hardware function together. Any punch list items are addressed on the spot or scheduled for immediate follow-up. Care and maintenance instructions are provided.
Manufacturing takes 4 to 6 weeks from approved CAD drawings. We do not begin until you have signed off, so your production slot is locked and your timeline is protected.
