Corner Units

Two runs of steel window meeting at a mitered glass corner, a view that wraps around the room.

108"90° MITERCORNER GLASSMITERED STEEL

A corner window unit is a steel window assembly in which two runs of glazing meet at a mitered glass corner with no post between them. It takes the view around the bend: the room opens to the landscape on two sides, and the glass appears to wrap the corner of the house.

This is precision work. The mitered glass corner has to be drawn, fabricated, and set so the two planes meet true and read as one. Mod Metal Doors builds the unit in its Central Texas shop, squares it before it ships, and installs it so the geometry holds for the life of the home. Fixed and operable casement runs can be combined within the same unit, putting ventilation where you want it and uninterrupted glass everywhere else.

Corner units are at their best in great rooms, primary suites, and breakfast nooks where the view deserves more than a single wall. (For full-height openings you can walk through, see our corner glass door units.)

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a corner window unit and a corner glass door unit?

A corner window unit is a window assembly that wraps a room's corner; a corner glass unit is its full-height, walk-through counterpart. Both are built in the same slim steel profile, so they can share an elevation.

Can a corner window include an operable section?

Yes. Fixed and operable casement runs can be combined within the same corner unit, putting ventilation exactly where you want it and uninterrupted glass everywhere else.

Do you install corner window units across Texas?

Yes. Each unit is fabricated and squared in Mod Metal Doors' Central Texas shop, then installed statewide, most often in great rooms, primary suites, and breakfast nooks where the view deserves more than a single wall.
